Last week I shared details about the upcoming Kentucky Association of Appraisers (KAA) Annual Board Meeting (March 19) and Continuing Education class (March 20).
Let me add a few important things.
First — the CE class is being taught by Peter Christensen.
If you’re serious about this profession, you know the name. Peter is one of the most recognized attorneys in appraisal law and liability nationwide. His insight into risk, exposure, and where the profession is heading is worth the trip alone.
Second — the KAA isn’t even a year old.
We’re already at 48 members.
In less than a year, we’ve:
•Built a functioning board
•Hosted meaningful events
•Brought in nationally recognized speakers
•And yes… helped move real legislative conversations forward in Kentucky
One of those conversations just made it out of committee and is now headed to a vote.
That didn’t happen by accident.
It happened because appraisers showed up.
I’m not going to blast details all over LinkedIn — if you’re paying attention, you’ll find it. But I will say this:
If you’ve ever thought, “Why doesn’t anyone advocate for us?”
This is what advocacy looks like.
If you’re in:
•Kentucky
•Southern Indiana
•Ohio
•Tennessee
The CE qualifies in most states (with a few exceptions).
But beyond the credit hours, here’s the bigger opportunity:
If you want to understand how to build a functioning association…
If you want to see how grassroots momentum actually turns into influence…
If you’re tired of sitting on the sidelines…
Come to the Board Meeting on March 19.
Stay for CE on March 20.
Ask questions. Get involved. Learn how we’re doing it.
There’s no secret formula — just collaboration and effort.
If you want change in this profession, you don’t get to complain unless you’re willing to participate.
We’d love to have you.
